Looking Into A Mind experiment
High Blood pressure is a state of mind. Although that statement is not entirely true there are aspects of it that are true. So lets have a look at a mind experiment. We know that there are many things that can cause high blood pressure, but surely it is a healthy thing to explore all the things that could reduce our blood pressure.
We know that some of the things we consume in our diets can cause our blood pressure to rise or so we have been told, these are things such as salt, coffee and alcohol to name a few. We do not know this to be 100% true, it is only what we have been told or advised, so if we suffer from high blood pressure we may reduce our intake of these things. This may help to reduce our blood pressure, either because it is true or because our minds accept it as true, so therefore it is our minds acceptance that is doing the real work.
It may be that the condition in our case is hereditary, one of our parents or aunties have high blood pressure and that may be the reason why we have it as well or so we are told. The trouble is we cannot eliminate our relatives, so we are stuck with that one, which our minds accept that nothing can be done about this one to lower our blood pressure.
There are other things that can cause high blood pressure or so we are told, but to go through all of them will take to long to write and will take to long for you to read. I think you get the picture from the ones that I have mentioned. I am talking here about the power of the mind and how the mind given the right ammunition can change anything we want to change in our lives.
Medicine for high blood pressure falls under the same group as those I have mentioned above. A doctor may prescribe a certain drug that they tell us will lower our blood pressure, we take that drug and our blood pressure may fall, so is it really the drug that is doing the work or is it the mind that has accepted that this drug will lower our blood pressure. I am not trying to dismiss the drugs that help so many people in this world today, what I am doing is trying to emphasize how powerful our minds can be.
Take a simple headache tablet and give it to someone who has a headache, will it work, probably. Why will it work, it may be that what ever is in the drug will eliminate the pain or it may be that persons mind has accepted that the pain will go now they have taken a headache tablet. But if you give that person a different tablet, something harmless or neutral like a vitamin tablet, but they think it is the headache tablet, will their headache still go, may be it will and if it does then it is the mind that has done the work.
So can our minds cure us naturally of ailments and medical conditions and is it the mind that has caused these conditions in the first place. If you are thinking that this is a load of nonsense, then just think about how much research has been done in this field, it is no different to the research in drugs and foods that we consume. It is about belief. Do you believe the drug companies, do you believe those who tell us that salt or coffee is the culprit or do you believe your own mind.
One thing that has been said to cause high blood pressure is the condition of stress, in fact stress is blamed for a lot of things that go wrong in the body. What is stress caused by, it is caused by our minds. It is not the excessive work load in our job that causes stress, it is how we react to that work load that causes us stress. It is not that messy divorce that causes us stress, it is how we let it affect our minds that causes the stress.
Bad things that happen to us can fill our thoughts with negativity, they can get us constantly thinking about them in a bad way, we get anxious about them and we become stressed because our minds are full of these thoughts. This does not stop the bad things happening, it just makes us negative and feeds our minds with all these damaging thoughts that we allow in to plague us.
If we instead accept that excessive work load and get through it as best we can, explain to our boss calmly that we have far to much work for one person, but will work through it as best we can, then we are dealing with it positively. If we accept that when a marriage breaks down there are arguments and things do get messy, we cannot change that by getting worked up by it, that will just make it worse. Instead we can approach it calmly and deal with all things that happen positively.
If we get worked up during our day, we can make sure that when we get home we take some time to calm down and get into a harmonious state of mind. Breathing techniques can help us do this, meditation can help us do this and music can also help us do this, whatever thing you choose to do, it has to be come part of your daily routine and eventually you will just be a calmer person that side steps stress when it tries to cling onto you and all the things that are said to be caused by stress will not become part of you, including high blood pressure.
