GARLIC BLOOD PRESSURE

If you have had high blood pressure and you want to bring it down and avoid medication as I have, then you are always looking for new ways to achieve just that. I am always on the look out for different things that will aid in controlling my blood pressure and keeping it normal.

So what about garlic then, you either love it or hate it. Fortunately I love it. Does it help with high blood pressure ? Whilst garlic is not something that will lower or cure high blood pressure alone, if used as part of your healthy diet and lifestyle it is said to have properties that will benefit blood pressure levels.

Research suggests that there is some evidence that garlic can assist in lowering diastolic and systolic blood pressure.  Garlic has also a reputation for lowering cholesterol which is a good thing in itself but can help with your BP. So what can we do with this information, well you can enjoy garlic in your cooking as a lot of people do any way, me being one of them. Use it as seasoning in your food instead of salt or you can get a garlic supplement.

If you decide that you want to go down the route of a garlic supplement and start taking garlic tablets then before you do so check with your Doctor to see how suitable they are for your particular situation. The reason I say this is because if you are on any other prescibed medication the garlic supplements may effect these. I would do this as a precaution with any supplement that I was thinking of taking. It’s a good thing to get some peace of mind from a Doctor before you make any kindof significant change in your lifestyle.

So if you like garlic then maybe it is worth including it as a more regular visitor to your healthy lifestyle.
