Eating Right
Eating Your Way To Hypertension
Eating the right food an the right amount can reduce the risk of developing hypertension. To much food and the wrong types can lead to high blood pressure or at least contribute to it.
Being Overweight can place a higher risk on the body developing high blood pressure. So weight control is important, not only to avoid the chance of hypertension but also other health issues that can develop through being overweight.
The right diet is important even if you don’t have high blood pressure, but becomes more important if you do. Fresh fruit and vegetables are good for you, that goes without saying. Freshly prepared foods are also better for you than processed foods, at least if we are preparing the foods ourselves we know what we are putting into our meals.
The biggest problem I see with any kind of foods is the amount that people tend to consume. The portion size does not always have to resemble a small mountain. In fact it never should, smaller sized meals are easier for our bodies to deal with, from digestion to calorie burning.
Over eating will only result in fat and becoming overweight and that will put more stress on all our bodily functions, from more stress on our joints and backs to more stress on our hearts and other cardiovascular functions. So eat smaller and stay healthier.
The other thing that goes hand in hand with eating right is Exercise and regular as possible. Keeping our muscles toned gives them less chance of turning to fat and also helps burn the calories quicker.
A lot of people say they don’t have the Time to exercise and prepare food from scratch, I think this more of an excuse not to have to, than a valid reason. Although most of us have very busy schedules there is always time that can be put aside for these activities. Keep a diary for a couple of weeks and write in hourly what you are doing, you will soon find time you thought you didn’t have.
