New Blood Pressure Information

As in all streams of medicine and the human body, there is much research goes on to find treatments and cures for different ailments and diseases. Blood Pressure is no different, there is always research based on treatments and new medicines for this condition.

Although I am not a great believer in medicines that doesn’t mean I disagree with research into understanding ailments and diseases. Many lives have been saved over the years through the breakthrough of new information as a result of research. So what’s new then?

Well the understanding of PTP1B and the recent research that has gone into this gene. Now I am not going to get all scientific here and I am sure you wouldn’t want me to, after all I am no Scientist. I will explain this as simply as I understand it and then if you want to research it more then you can.

PTP1B is a gene that is in our bodies and basically put, is like a protective mechanism. If this mechanism is not working then it could contribute to hypertension. High Blood Pressure has been linked to being overweight, but there are thin people that suffer from hypertension.

So why do all overweight people not suffer with hypertension and why do some thin people suffer with it. Well that could be down to the factor of whether their protective mechanism PTP1B is working or not. If a thin persons is not then this could be the reason why, also PTP1B can increase in obese people which would answer why some overweight people don’t suffer with hypertension.

Like I said, I have put this new information in a very basic form and don’t pretend to understand this complicated subject of PTP1B’s, but it is an interesting concept and could change the way high blood pressure is dealt with, it will be interesting to see what kind of results come from this research in the future.

In the meantime keep up that Healthy Diet and Exercise Program, it’s working for me.

I’m not overweight but have suffered from high blood pressure and it runs in my family. But I can control it through diet and exercise, thankfully.

    Hi Hypertension Kid

It is great to hear from someone that is doing pretty much the same as me to control blood pressure. I also control mine through a healthy diet and regular exercise, I have built up to running twice per week and cycling twice per week. I also use the BreathEasy System. Keep up the good work!
